International Credit Union Day

October 9, 2020 - News

UMassFive is happy to take part in International Credit Union (ICU) Day each year—to celebrate our members, and the appreciation we have for them being part of our financial cooperative. Unfortunately safety concerns have forced us to cancel festivities this year, but we look forward to celebrating with all of you next year!

Even as we take measures to keep our communities safe from Covid-19, we continue to expand ways for members to grow their financial knowledge and well-being, through digital seminars, and expanded digital services.

ICU Day celebrates the spirit of the global credit union movement. The day is recognized to reflect upon the credit union movement's history, promote its achievements, recognize hard work, and share member experiences. International Credit Union (ICU) Day has been celebrated on the third Thursday of October since 1948.

The ultimate goal is to raise awareness about the tremendous work that credit unions and other financial cooperatives are doing around the world and give members the opportunity to get more engaged.
