Hadley, MA – UMassFive College Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce Sabrina Westgate, one of their applicants for the Pioneer Valley Chapter of the Cooperative Credit Union Association scholarship, has received the Michael Sullivan award in the amount of $2,000.
Sabrina, a senior at Frontier Regional School in South Deerfield, MA, plans to attend the University of Rochester to study Chemical Engineering for her Bachelor’s degree, and go on to earn a Master’s degree and a PhD. Amongst her many achievements, Sabrina co-founded her school’s Model UN club in 2012, participated in the Sustainability Club, Student Council, GSA/Diversity Club and more. Sabrina has also run cross country and Track and Field since her Sophomore year. She graduates first in her class with a 4.47 GPA and a 2210 on her SATs.
The Michael Sullivan Scholarship is one of 6 scholarships awarded to High School Seniors from credit unions that are part of the Pioneer Valley Chapter of Credit Unions. The scholarship is named after Michael Sullivan, a current Director and one of the founding members of the UMassFive College Federal Credit Union, as well as a former Board Member of the Pioneer Valley Chapter.
