During the month of November, the Hadley branch of UMassFive College Federal Credit Union held a Personal Care Items Drive to benefit the pantry of the Amherst Survival Center. The Credit Union was able to collect 116 pounds of items to donate to the Amherst Survival Center, where they will be provided, for free, to our neighbors in need.
"Families who use the food pantry also need and want soap, toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper and deodorant,” said Niri Azuaje, Food Pantry Coordinator at the Amherst Survival Center. “The community has generously supported the pantry by providing diapers, but these other items are also critically needed. Thank you to the UMassFive community for their generosity in helping to supply the personal care pantry."
The UMassFive College Federal Credit Union was established in 1967 and serves the University of Massachusetts as well as the Five College System and other select employee groups. A non-profit financial cooperative, its earnings go back to members in the form of better rates, lower fees, and improved services. UMassFive has over 36,000 members, five branches, and assets of over $400 million.
