How does UMassFive Secure my Data?

UMassFive College Federal Credit Union is committed to protecting your privacy. We have designed our website to allow you to visit most areas without identifying yourself or supplying personal information. For those areas where you are requested to provide identifiable information, we assure you that it will only be used to support your member relationship with UMassFive.

Website Security

Internet security is even more important when financial transactions are involved. A site (both financial and non-financial) is considered secure if all sensitive information that is transmitted between the member’s browser and the owner of the site is encrypted (scrambled so that someone looking cannot read it). UMassFive uses an encryption for Internet activity that involves the exchange of sensitive information. Encrypted features include Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Bill Payer, and applications for lending and deposit products.

E-Mail

Information sent via the Internet may be used by UMassFive for such purposes as responding to questions, addressing member suggestions, or updating member information. When we send emails to you that contain sensitive information, we will use an encrypted email service. When you send sensitive information to us (such as member numbers, Social Security Numbers, PINs, etc.), either reply using our encrypted email service, or use the secure messaging features found within our online banking, mobile banking, and loan application systems. Do not use your standard e-mail provider to send sensitive information to UMassFive.

Online and Mobile Banking

The methods we use to secure your information in our online banking, mobile banking, and loan application systems are constantly evolving to keep up with changes in technology. You can rest assured that UMassFive utilizes industry best practices, including but not limited to, encryption, firewalls, and multi-factor authentication.

Cookies

Cookies are messages shared between Web browsers and Web servers. To deliver more customized service to our members, UMassFive uses cookies in several applications as well as to indicate acceptance of our Online Banking & Bill Payer Agreement. We do not link the cookie information that we receive with your name, member number, or any other personal information.
