UMassFive is running a winter coat and cold-weather clothing drive in our Hadley, UMass Amherst, Northampton, and Mercy Medical Center branches throughout the month of January.
These collection efforts will benefit the communities that surround the branches. Donations will be sent to the Amherst Survival Center, and Friends of the Homeless in Springfield. These donations are part of an effort to ensure that all community members have access to cold-weather clothing this winter.
“Coats are one of the most requested items in our free Community Store,” said Amherst Survival Center Executive Director, Lev Ben-Ezra. “We are so grateful to UMassFive and their members. Through their efforts, hundreds of kids, adults, and seniors will be warm and protected from the elements this winter.”
UMassFive welcomes any and all clean, new or gently used coats, gloves, scarves, hats, sweaters, and blankets. You may drop off items during business hours to the Hadley branch at 200 Westgate Center Drive, UMass Amherst branch in the Campus Center, Northampton branch at 225 King St, or Mercy Medical Center Branch at 233 Carew St. in Springfield.
