Board of Director Nominees’ Brief Biographies

Robert M. Harrison – 3 Year Term (Incumbent)
I love my volunteer work for UMassFive. I have served as a Board Member since 2012, performing the duties as Board Chair since March of 2014. My work history includes Associate Vice President & Director of Internal Audit for the UMass 5 Campus System (retired), Forensic Investigator for the Financial Crimes Unit of the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office (retired), and as a Revenue Agent for the IRS. I’ve held professional credentials as a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor, and a Certified Fraud Examiner. I have also held elected office and served on numerous volunteer committees for the City of Easthampton. I am fully committed to the cooperative credit union movement and enjoy participating in the growth and development decisions to make our Credit Union the best choice for full financial services for our members.

Jacqueline Watrous – 3 Year Term (Incumbent)
Over the last eight years I have volunteered on the Credit Union’s Supervisory Committee. Then, six years ago I expanded my involvement by participating as a member of the Board of Directors. As a Board member, I can serve the community by supporting and working with an organization I believe in. I have worked at UMass Amherst for over 30 years and have held a variety of positions in the finance and systems fields. I have a BBA Finance and MBA from the Isenberg School of Business at UMass Amherst. I would like to contribute to the continued success of the Credit Union in achieving its financial goals and meeting member needs.

Julius Lewis – 3 Year Term (Incumbent)
I have been member of UMassFive Credit Union since 2010. Throughout the years I’ve helped to promote the products and services within my community and bring in new members. As a member, I have personally used several of the products and services that have helped me achieve several financial goals. Being a graduate of the UMass Isenberg School of Management, played a major role in launching my professional career in the financial industry. Since 2003 I have worked as an independent financial consultant, specializing in insurance products, and I continue to give back to my community. In 2006 I created and hosted “The Lewis & Morrow Financial Hour”, a weekly financial radio talk show broadcast throughout the region and online. In 2017 I started my company JDL Financial, and have received several awards and achievements within my profession. In closing, I would be honored to be a part of the continued success of the Credit Union in achieving its financial goals and meeting the needs of its members.

Sam Killings – 1 Year Term (Incumbent)
I have accumulated an extensive amount of knowledge during the time I have served as a Board member, and I would like to continue volunteering as a Board of Director for UMassFive, making a difference in the growth of the Credit Union and offering stable financial direction for the membership. In addition to my 25+ years on the Board, I have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 42 years’ experience as an Internal Auditor and Assistant Controller for Research Accounting at the University of Massachusetts. I look forward to a greater role in outreach to the UMassFive community.
