UMassFive has long served the members and employees of River Valley Co-op, a full-service, community-owned food cooperative based in Northampton.
The co-op specializes in fresh, local, and organically grown groceries, prepared foods, wine and beer, wellness, and bulk items. River Valley’s membership has grown over the years, from 2,000 co-owners when they opened in 2008, to currently over 13,000.
Now, in very exciting news, River Valley Co-op has opened a second location on Northampton Street in Easthampton! This expansion was years in the making, based on the co-op goals of growing the local foods movement, expanding union job growth and advancement opportunities for their employees, serving more community members, and growing the cooperative movement. The new location is similar in size to the Northampton facility, but boasts a larger parking lot with a solar array and EV parking charging stations. Both locations are open to anyone who would like to shop—membership is not required.
