We are pleased to inform you of an exciting development happening at UMassFive

From Sunday, November 1 through Tuesday, November 3 2020, we will be upgrading our core operating system, which is the internal software that we use to manage your accounts and transactions, and other supporting technologies.

UMassFive began this project over two years ago, when it became clear that our rate of growth and technology needs would soon exceed the capabilities of our existing core system. As an institution, we have prided ourselves on our ability to advance with the latest technology in order to provide you with the best member experience possible. Therefore, we began looking for a system that would make it easier for you to bank and borrow with us, and provide an internal framework that we could grow into, all while upholding the highest standards of security. We are confident that the new system we chose will set us up for successful and sustained advancement of the Credit Union across our six physical branches and full-service Contact Center, and allow us to continue providing excellent service to our more than 42,000 members.

Despite COVID-19 we have stayed true to this strategic project. Teams of dedicated employees specializing in individual facets of our core system have been hard at work for many months now—meeting via conference calls and training remotely—to ensure that we meet our November 1 upgrade date. We are happy to report that we remain on-schedule, without any compromise to quality or security, and do not anticipate any future delays.

While most of the changes will continue to happen behind the scenes, there will be some brief but necessary disruptions, as well as some changes of which you, as a member, will need to be aware. Some of this key information will be detailed in advance, including here in this newsletter. However, in the interest of timeliness, much of this information will be communicated to you later in September and October as we approach the dates of the scheduled upgrade. We encourage our members to read the rest of this newsletter, and keep a lookout for additional communication that will be sent via mail, email, and social media, and posted on our website.

Rest assured, we are strongly committed to making this transition as seamless as possible for you, and we are mindful of the trust and confidence you place in us—especially during these unprecedented times. We will keep you up-to-date about when changes will occur and what aspects of banking with us will be affected so that you will be prepared. Along the way, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are so proud and grateful for our staff who are testing, training, and practicing every day. We know that they are well prepared and ready to answer any questions you may have about your accounts and the improvements that are to come alongside this system upgrade.

Once again, thank you for your continued loyalty in our financial cooperative. We are genuinely excited to put the results of this project to work so that we can serve you even better, well into the future.

Sincerely,
